Install Signal on Your Phone
On the home screen Signal runs full screen, and on iOS that is the only way lock-screen alerts reach you at all.
Signal Is Installed
You are running the installed app right now. Sign in, then turn on Account & Settings → Notifications for this device.
Install It Now
This browser can install Signal directly.
iPhone / iPad (Safari)
- Open Safari and go to
id.signalpublicsafety.app - Tap the Share icon — the square with the up-arrow.
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.
- Open Signal from the home screen and sign in.
- Go to Account & Settings → Notifications and turn on notifications for this device.
iOS only delivers lock-screen alerts to an installed app. Skip the install and alerts arrive only while the browser tab is open.
Android (Chrome)
- Open Chrome and go to
id.signalpublicsafety.app - Tap Install in the banner, or the ⋮ menu → Install app.
- Open Signal from the home screen and sign in.
- Go to Account & Settings → Notifications and turn on notifications for this device.
Desktop (Chrome / Edge)
- Go to
id.signalpublicsafety.app - Click the install icon at the right end of the address bar.
- Confirm with Install. Signal gets its own window and lives in your Start menu or Dock.
How Alerts Reach You
- Email — every page and matching CAD subscription emails you the link to the incident.
- Web push — once enabled on a device, a lock-screen notification that opens Signal when tapped.
- In-app tone — with the Radio Listener open, your alert tone plays the moment a paging match fires.
Tones, quiet hours and devices live in Account & Settings. Use Test Alert on your department's Radio Alerts page before you depend on it.
